A big THANKS to all of the families who submitted matching donations through their employers for the Move-a-thon, Direct Ask, and their Volunteer time. Over just the last two months the Sacajawea PTA has received over $2,000 from matching donations. It makes a HUGE difference and we appreciate it!
And, if you haven’t submitted your match requests yet, you still have time. Contact Laura Riley lkriley99@Outlook.com if you have questions or need help.
Community Walking Improvements: Vote Extended Until March 1st
These are the final two days for Phase 2 ranking in the competitive Neighborhood Street Fund grant. Please share your opinion on the NSF site to help our projects get ranked.
These are the final two days for Phase 2 ranking in the competitive Neighborhood Street Fund grant. The Sacajawea Elementary Community: Safer Pedestrian Connections on NE 90th Street project is in the Sacajawea walk zone and needs community support to become a finalist.
This project will complete the missing sidewalk on NE 90th St between 17th Avenue NE and Lake City Way.
The top projects are separated by only a slim margin! If you support the sidewalk, please take a minute to create an account at https://nsf.consider.it and rate the project a high priority. Ranking ends March 1st.
Thank you for helping us advocate for walking improvements in the neighborhood!

The Sacajawea Samurai Ultimate Frisbee Team is now registering players for the Spring 2019 season! All genders are invited to play on our Mixed-Genders team, and registration is open to all 3rd through 5th graders! Practices will be once a week on Fridays starting 3/1 and games will be on Saturdays 3/9-4/27 with playoffs 5/4 and 5/11. Cost per player is $50 for the season and includes team jersey, league registration, and Ultimate-quality frisbee. Scholarships are available, please just ask!
Not sure if you want to play? Come to our first practice and decide! We will gather at the Maple Leaf park at 4:00-5:30 pm (east side of the big field, up the hill from the baseball fields, location map ) for a "Frisboree" between returning and new players. Not familiar with Ultimate Frisbee? Check out more about the sport at DiscNW.
To register your 3rd-5th grader, to let us know you’re interested, or if you have any questions, please contact Claudine Miller (themillage@gmail.com).
