On Tuesday, teachers and students worked together to present a beautiful assembly commemorating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dear Sacajawea Families,

On Tuesday, teachers and students worked together to present a beautiful assembly commemorating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Preparing for this was part of their learning experience around the Civil Rights Movement. At Sacajawea, we strive to create an environment that is inclusive and equitable for every student and family. Learning about the Civil Rights Movement is just one way in which we work to teach these concepts to our children.

Over the next few weeks, classes will also be engaging in lessons around the Black Lives Matter at school week. Stay tuned for more information.

In Partnership,

Rachel Friesen

PTA Year-End Update

From the entire PTA board, thank you to our entire community for supporting Sacajawea and the PTA during the first part of this 2018-2019 school year.

From the entire PTA board, thank you to our entire community for supporting Sacajawea and the PTA during the first part of this 2018-2019 school year. Together, we've supported a broad set of initiatives including Walk to School Day, visiting musicians, advocacy for the BEX Levy, the Book Fair, and the Move-a-Thon.

Plus, our Equity Team won the Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Award and put on a spectacular Heritage Potluck in October.

And last, with your generous support, we've raised almost $40,000 of our $100,000 goal for this school year. Thank you again for all that you do for Sacajawea.
