Quilt-In for the Auction: We Need Your Help

Do you sew, quilt, or have an interest in learning? Good news! We need your help!

Do you sew, quilt, or have an interest in learning? Good news!

Starting now, you can help contribute to quilts that will be auctioned this Spring to benefit Sacajawea. After a week long quilt/art project with Mr. Ryan at the end of October, help will be needed to piece what the kids make together into quilt tops. Other opportunities will include- cutting strips, assembling kits to make blocks, ironing seams and blocks, and assembly of blocks and tops (sewing experience preferable, but more than willing to teach).

Come cultivate your sewing creative genius with a Sacajawea Sew-In! After school on Wednesdays, from pick up to 6pm (or as you can!).

If you're interested, please contact Kam Martin at heykam@mac.com.

Principal Friesen's Update, 12/6/18

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at our Pizza & Game Night at the Book Fair tonight. This will be a very fun event for kids and families to enjoy together. Please join us!

Dear Sacajawea Community,

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at our Pizza & Game Night at the Book Fair tonight. This will be a very fun event for kids and families to enjoy together. Please join us!

Another upcoming opportunity is that on January 31st from 6:00 – 7:00 PM our budget department is going to come out to talk to us about how the Seattle Public Schools budget works, and give us information about the upcoming levies. We’ll have a movie night for the children, while adult family members have the opportunity to learn about the budget and levy process. Want to know more right now? You can watch and share this video to get a better understanding of how school funding works at SPS and the steps we are taking to bridge the funding gap.

In Partnership,

Rachel Friesen, Principal
Sacajawea Elementary School
