Harvest Heritage Potluck
On behalf of the Parent Racial Equity Team, thanks to everyone for coming to this year’s Harvest Heritage Potluck. We had amazing turnout and incredible food! We host this gathering every year, and it’s always filled with fun, food and fellowship.
On behalf of the Parent Racial Equity Team, thanks to everyone for coming to this year’s Harvest Heritage Potluck. We had amazing turnout and incredible food! We host this gathering every year, and it’s always filled with fun, food and fellowship. It’s also a chance for us all to celebrate the diversity of our school community. We hope you had some time to chat and socialize with friends old and new, and also talk to our PTA and school leadership about the things that matter to you most!
This year, we had some special guests with us: Seattle City Council member Debora Juarez, Seattle Public School Board of Directors members Scott Pinkham and Rick Burke, and Washington State PTA President Michelle Nims. We were grateful for them all taking the time out of their busy schedules to come to our school, and celebrate with us!
We had a Photo Booth where Sac parent Lori Phipps took photos for our SHINE family display in the office. Also, we hosted a Winter Coat Exchange for kids and families. Thanks also to Ms. Rings’ Kindergarten students, both current and former, who performed “Cedar Tree,” and Ms. Teague’s second graders who performed “Twinkle Twinkle.”
Finally, congratulations to the Parent Racial Equity Team, whose members were recognized for their work with the presentation of the National PTA Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Award. It’s a great honor for our school!
