Dear Sacajawea Families,
This year, our PTA is keeping fundraising simple — one major giving campaign this fall and a small, fun Move-a-Thon in the spring. That’s it.
Together, we need to raise $70,000 this school year to keep the programs and people that make Sacajawea Elementary thrive. Our goal for the Annual Giving Campaign is $50,000 by November 13, with an additional $20,000 goal for the Move-a-Thon in the spring. These gifts, along with grants and surplus funds from past years, will support next year's budget.
These PTA funds cover $100,000 of essential programs that district and state budgets no longer support, and these programs directly impact every student and family at Sacajawea:
Additional reading specialist hours ($20,000). Building literacy skills and supporting students who need extra help
Family support services and coordinator ($20,000). Providing grocery cards, food supplements, and scholarships, and helping support families
Tutors, hourly staffing, and volunteer coordinator ($17,000). Providing additional academic help so struggling students can succeed
Teacher stipends ($10,000). Ensuring teachers don’t spend from their own pockets on supplies for our classrooms with this once-a-year grant directly to teachers
Community events and Equity Team ($10,000). Building connection and inclusion through school-wide gatherings and equity initiatives
Kindergarten Jumpstart ($5,000). Helping our youngest learners transition successfully
And, many other programs ($18,000). Teacher grants, classroom supplies, field trip buses, teacher appreciation, and PTA overhead (rental fees, technology, insurance, etc.)
To meet this year’s goal, we need to raise about $350 per student. We understand that for many families, this level of giving may not be possible, and that’s okay. That’s why we’re asking our families who can provide more to help lift the entire community by adding support for additional children.
Every gift matters, and last year, donations ranged from $25 to $2,000. Each contribution, regardless of its size, supports our students and staff. The more we can raise now, the less we’ll need to ask for later in the year.
Please give today! Matching donations from your employer are a big part of our fundraising, so please check if this is an option!
Together, we can reach our $50,000 goal by November 13th and keep Sacajawea strong for every child.
With gratitude,
Seth Bridges, Fundraising Chair, Sacajawea PTA
