Our school benefits from the generosity of the Sacajawea community, which provides volunteer hours and financial support to help ensure our students and staff receive the additional support and services they need to be happy and productive.

Last year, over 100 parents, teachers, staff, and students came together to volunteer on numerous school improvement projects, meet our fundraising goal (with a high parent participation rate), and ensure continued essential support of key programs.

At Sacajawea, we enjoy a long-standing tradition of relying strongly on parents and others contributing their time, talent, and resources. These contributions allow our school community to help fill the gaps in an underfunded public education system. 

Our Sacajawea PTA is helping to close our funding gap by coming together as a community, and it’s rewarding and fun to work together to improve our children’s education and build a strong foundation for their future. Traditionally, the Sacajawea community is invited to make financial donations at three points during the school year, including:

• Move-a-Thon (Fall): The more your kids move, the more programs our PTA can offer our school. This is a great way to reach out to friends and family to involve them.

• Direct Ask (Winter): Your support enables us to fund the programs listed below.

• Community Celebration (Spring): This year, we will have a family dinner and movie night with a silent auction at the school. We wanted an event that brings our students and families together through friendship and entertainment.

With your help, we will continue to support so many important initiatives at Sacajawea, including instrumental music, visiting musicians, equity team initiatives, additional tutors, annual teacher stipends, field-trip buses, and our volunteer and family support coordinators. To fully fund next year’s programs, we need to raise $25,000 during our Spring Ask campaign between now and February 27, 2023.

Les estudiantes de Sacajawea se benefician de la generosidad de la comunidad escolar para brindar horas de trabajo voluntario y apoyo financiero para ayudar a garantizar que se brinden programas básicos y servicios estudiantiles a nuestra niñez.

El año pasado, más de 100 padres, maestres, personal y estudiantes se unieron para ofrecerse como voluntarios en numerosos proyectos de mejora escolar, alcanzar nuestra meta de recaudación de fondos (con una alta tasa de participación de los padres) y garantizar el apoyo esencial continuo de los programas clave.

Su PTA está ayudando a cerrar nuestra brecha de financiación al unirse como comunidad, y es gratificante y divertido trabajar juntos para mejorar la educación de nuestra niñez y construir una base sólida para su futuro.

• Move-a-Thon (Otoño): Entre más activa esté la niñez,, más programas puede ofrecer nuestra PTA a nuestra escuela. Esta es una excelente manera de comunicarse con amigos y familiares para involucrarlos.

• Solicitud directa (invierno): su apoyo nos permite financiar los programas que se enumeran a continuación.

• Celebración comunitaria (primavera): este año tendremos una cena familiar y una noche de cine con una subasta silenciosa en la escuela. Queríamos un evento que reúna a nuestres estudiantes y familias a través de la amistad y el entretenimiento.

Con su ayuda, continuaremos apoyando tantas iniciativas importantes en Sacajawea, que incluyen música instrumental, músicos visitantes, iniciativas de equipos de equidad, tutores adicionales, estipendios anuales para maestres, autobuses de excursiones y nuestros coordinadores de apoyo familiar y voluntario.
