MAP

MAP is the acronym we use for our Multi-cultural Arts Program. It is the framework through which our students explore the arts and the world around them. Each year, our students focus on a different geographical region, so that by the end of their journey through elementary school, they have toured the world. This is the schedule that we've been rotating through:

2006-2007 - Central and South America
2007-2008 - North America
2008-2009 - Europe
2009-2010 - Oceania
2010-2011 - Africa
2011-2012 - Asia

Our arts teacher, Shelley Tucker, has a strong background in the literary arts and teaching the creative process. Through writing, drawing, painting, singing, dancing, and more, she helps her students to gain confidence in their own ability to create and to appreciate the differences in other people and cultures.

The Fall curriculum has included foil art and writing, paper weavings, and song and dance from Oceania. Read Ms. Shelley Tucker's latest update...
